I was born at George Air Force Base in Victorville, California. My father is an Air Force veteran, and my early years took me from Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Dayton, Ohio, then to Adrian, Michigan, and eventually all the way to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where I attended a multinational elementary school. When I came back to the U.S., I went to school in Wauseon, Ohio, from second grade through my freshman year of high school.

For my sophomore year, I moved to Tampa, Florida, and attended King Senior High. My junior year brought me to Englewood, Florida, where I graduated from Lemon Bay High School in 1987. I started my roots here in 1985 and have been proud to call Englewood home ever since.

After graduation, I built a 35+ year career in the fair and flea market business, selling costume jewelry through my own company, Karen’s Korner, in Bradenton and Fort Myers. I still keep that tradition alive today, exhibiting each year at the Florida Strawberry Festival — now going into my 38th consecutive year.

My path into real estate began when I purchased my first home with an agent who didn’t meet my expectations. I took every mistake they made and turned them into lessons on what not to do, making sure I always give my clients the kind of experience I wish I had. Many of my clients end up becoming lifelong friends.

As well as being a Realtor, I also own and operate Englewood Lock and Key, where I specialize in automotive locksmithing — cutting and programming chip keys and fobs.

Community is a huge part of my life. I’m the current president of the Englewood Sunset Rotary Impact Club, an all-women club here in Florida. In December 2025, I was honored as Woman of the Month by FIERCE. I also serve on the board for the Manasota Mystic Fundraiser with the Englewood Chamber of Commerce and on the board of the Realtor RPAC Committee.

When I’m not working or volunteering, I love spending time with my six grandchildren, staying active with Pilates, and enjoying time with friends as a proud member of the Moose Lodge. I’m strong, empowered, and never afraid to stand up for what I believe in.
